Pretty with floral notes. Very refreshing. Nuances of honeysuckle, white peach and juicy lemon. A slight hint of green apple skin.
Hand Harvested from our small, just under an acre, Block 42, Fiano was brought in late for a white grape on October 5, 2018. The additional ripening gave this vintage of Fiano time to fully develop flavor and brightness.
We only bring in a ton and a half of Fiano and Verdicchio, and this vintage they were carefully fermented in two stainless steel barrels each. Small amounts of wine take more care and attention from our production team.
This rich, aromatic wine grape from the world famous Compania region from southern Italy proves to be a refreshingly lithe example here in the Temecula Valley. Floral elements mix with green grass in a heady reminder of the smells of spring. The nose is answered on the palette by jasmine tinged nectarine flavors that more than invite the next sip. Once again, limited plantings producing precious little of this rare wine mean that it is not long run, but we should savor it, perhaps for it's complex aromatic impression alone, while it is here.
Whole-cluster pressed + fermented in stainless steel.
Light in body with medium acid and a long, enjoyable finish.
