Winemaker Notes
2017 brought some beneficial rains, breaking the five year drought. Heat came later in August and early September and sped up the white harvest, but later cooler temperatures saw the reds in the field a bit longer to see full ripening.

A charcuterie platter of cut meats and hard cheeses. Roasted lamb with mint sauce.

Our Cartuccia 2017 is a blend of our estate Sangiovese and Barbera varietals aged in oak barrels to form delectable wine that represents the best of our vineyard. This medium-bodied red wine has aromas of dried cranberry and fennel and notes of cherry and cocoa. A charcuterie board of your favorite salami and hard cheeses is the perfect pairing for this wine.
