Blackberry, Toasted Coconut and Nutmeg. On the palate layers of Cedar, Black Cherry and White Pepper
Block 34 was at it prime for this 17 vintage and heavy with lush fruit. We pulled fruit early to encourage the best and most bold flavors from those bunches left to ripen.
New barrels were purchased for this 17 vintage of Montepulciano allowing a great extraction of natural tannins and aromas the toasted oak had to offer.
"The prolific aromas of black berry, boysenberry cedar, tobacco, and black currant. On the palate it showcases white pepper, licorice, and black cherry culminating with mulling spice and oak." -Winemaker Brian Hulbert
Food Pairing Notes
Rich hearty dishes like meat stuffed shells with rich red sauce.
Medium bodied, with a long smooth finish.
Montepulciano is a medium bodied wine that originated in central Italy. It is the second most planted red grape there and here in the Temecula Valley the terroir shows the amazing potential of this grape offering up lush fruit driven wines that age well for four or more years.
